It’s pronounced “nine”
It’s such a big company and you never know what kind of people you will meet everyday. As last time I blogged about a guy named Jerry Yang and is the owner of alias “ex-yahoo”.
This morning, a guy with last name Ix and no first name BCCed a big email alias. Later on he apologized for it, but people wouldn’t accept his apology unless he told us how he got his name.
Here is his story:
Ok, so it seems that I need to explain my name to the whole dl.
The story is a little complicated, but I will try to explain. My father was in the navy when my parents met (she worked for the government in accounting). Very early on in their relationship they found out that they were pregnant. They had a lot of conversations about the pregnancy because they knew that their careers were on the line, but they were also very happy about being pregnant. Being both a good and bad thing, my dad joked that I was “Designation IX”, which, in navy terminology, means “unclassified miscellaneous”, which was used when no one knew how to classify something.
Why Ix became his last name instead of first name is unknown to me.
I’m a PC t-shirts
Just got an email saying it’s available at the company store. Somehow I think it will look really dumb wearing such a shirt, in a way similar to the Zune tatoo guy.
Forward in Hotmail
