Google published its own web browser Chrome today and everyone got really excited and rushed to download it. So, what is the big deal? It looks like IE8 beats Chrome on that per process per tab and private browsing thing by roughly a week. And everyone thinks Google really innovates.

What really surprised me is the new Picasa 3.0 beta out today. I have been stuck with the old ver 2.7 for about a year and a new version of Picasa is long overdue.

It looks like Google is so confident with its face recognition technology that it’s now included in the picasaweb. They also include a small button in the Picasa 3.0 to filter photos with faces. Very fancy, but it can’t tell that the person with a different hair style is the same ME. Pity.

Lots of other fancy features, like enhanced editor, etc.

But what really gets me excited is this:

See the green bar under the video? Yes, the video playback control, which has been missing since V1.

So, no more watching from the beginning every time and wait dumbly until your favorite scene. Big Kudos to Picasa team. Why it has been missing for so long? Don’t ask me.

Another great touch is when I made this screen shot using the Alt+PrintScreen key combo, a BMP file is saved automatically in the Picasa folder and the nice little popup prompted me that there was a new screen shot added. Very nice and I love it.

谷歌今天发布了自己的网页浏览器Chrome，不过最惊喜的还是同天发布的Picasa 3.0 beta。谷歌对自己人脸识别技术似乎很自信满满，在这个新版本加入了按人脸自动加标签的功能。还有其他一些，比如增强的编辑功能，等等。不过，在演示电影里惊鸿一瞥，并没有单独介绍，却是我最期待的功能：

终于不用每次都要从头看起或者右键-》用外部程序播放了，muahaha。已经忍了一年多了，至于为啥谷歌到3.0才加上这个功能，你问我我问谁啊。。。

Picasa的部落格竟然允许pingback，世界各国的访客都顺路跑过来偷窥，只好加点英文内容糊弄糊弄。
